Canon Medical Site

AFS: A Demonstration Site For Today’s Most Advanced Ultrasound.

At Alaska Family Sonograms, we exist to provide doctors with detailed images and information on which to base an accurate diagnosis. To be able to always do this to the highest standards, we dedicate ourselves to staying at the forefront of medical ultrasound. It is because of this commitment that we have long been a reference and demonstration site for Canon Medical Systems.

A 25-Year Relationship With A World Leader In Ultrasound.

Before founding Alaska Family Sonograms more than 15 years ago, our most experienced sonographers were already working closely with Canon, a worldwide leader in medical imaging systems. For more than 25 years, we’ve been Canon customers because of their leadership in image quality and workflow tools that enhance our diagnostic detail and reliability.

Today, as a reference site, Alaska Family Sonograms tests and demonstrates the newest, most up-to-date ultrasound technologies available. We provide the company a real-world opportunity to evaluate every aspect of their ultrasound equipment and new innovations. We also serve as a showcase site for Canon when they need to demonstrate their equipment to interested parties in Alaska. In turn, we’re able to enhance our imaging capabilities by using state-of-the-art tools that provide:

  • Optimal resolution
  • Superior definition
  • Greater image uniformity
  • Maximized diagnostic accuracy

Dedicated To Staying On The Forefront Of New Capabilities.

It’s no secret: in medical imaging, image quality is of primary importance. This has been a particular strength for Canon Medical Systems’ ultrasound equipment for decades. The other vital strength is ultrasound penetration: the equipment’s ability to penetrate tissues and represent those tissues distinctly. Over the decades, the company has led the way in these categories, which is why we continually upgrade our equipment as Canon releases new advancements, many of which we’ve helped them to test and improve.

Today, using the i800 system, our experienced sonographers are able to maximize these important capabilities across different clinical applications, from obstetric to abdominal to small-parts imaging. The i800 unit and suite of software tools also provides exceptional Doppler color-flow imaging, allowing the diagnostic physician (a board-certified radiologist) to see and evaluate blood flow.
